This book contains 40 bilingual quatrains of Omar Khayyam which was prepared in 2009 on the occasion of the bicentennial of the historical translation of Khayyam’s quatrains into English by Edward Fitzgerald in the form of 40 calligraphy tableaus in English, French, German, Italian, Arabic, Georgian, Spanish, Japanese and Esperanto.
30 quatrains are derived from Edward Fitzgerald’s translation and the rest of the tableaus are based on the nine distinguished international translators.
Our goal of the compilation of these works in the form of a magnificent book is the celebration of the global figure of Khayyam and the translators of his quatrains.
This book presents the cultural perspective of two distinct societies and invites the audience to face the challenges posed by the life style suggested by Khayyam in artistic form.
The use of eastern artistic ornaments particularly Iranian ornaments is one of the key features of this book.
